SANCTUARY OF HOPE
RUN THE GOOD RACE
CURE' OF ARS WELL-REPRESENTED ON AWARDS STAND!
JUNE 21, 2008

On June 21, 2008, priests, seminarians and parishioners of Cure' of Ars traveled to the Sanctuary of Hope in Kansas City, Kansas to run in the annual "Run the Good Race."

Seminarian Scott Wallisch "did the double." He ran the 5k Challenge Course (a mere 22 hills on a wood-chipped path) at 7 a.m., then was joined on the 5k road course at 8 a.m. by Associate Pastor Father Greg Hammes and Seminarian Nathan Haverland, along with several parishioners.

Cure' of Ars Pastor Monsignor Charles McGlinn was there for moral support and pastorly counseling, but these Cure' runners, who had trained hard on the streets of Leawood, were well-represented at the awards presentation hosted by Villanova University alumnus and WDAF Fox 4 Sports Director Frank Boal.

Sanctuary of Hope is a place for time away from the noise, stress and pressures of everyday life. Twenty-two guest rooms and 33 acres of wooded trails, meadows and gardens provide accommodations for retreats, meditation, quiet reading and group retreat activities along I-70, between I-635 and 18th Street (Roe). The director of Sanctuary of Hope is Father Dennis Wait, of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.
