DEDICATION AND BLESSING OF THE MEMORIAL TO THE UNBORN
JULY 21, 2002

	On Sunday, July 21, 2002, Archbishop James Kelleher, Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, accompanied by the Reverend Charles McGlinn, Pastor of Cure' of Ars Parish, presided over the formal dedication and blessing of the Memorial to the Unborn which is located in the contemplative garden setting between the rectory and church. The Cure' of Ars Knights of Columbus Council 9856 sponsored acquisition of the four foot tall Blessed Mother and Christ Child statue, its placement on the pedestal, and preparation of the memorial site. Two donors, one in memory of the late Robert E. Joyce and the other an anonymous donor, generously provided reflection benches. Shirley White of our parish lovingly prepared the garden setting. Following the dedication and blessing ceremony, all participants hastily escaped the scorching Kansas heat for the air-conditioned comfort of the Parish Hall, where cool refreshments and delicious snacks were served.
