RELIGIOUS EDUCATION MASS
October 9, 2005

The Cure' of Ars gymnasium was the site of Mass on Sunday, October 9, 2005 for all of the students in the Religious Education program, and their parents and family members. The altar was adorned with a huge banner holding the children's self-portraits on die-cut card stock, representing their individual values as persons and important parts of the community as a whole. Father Kent O'Connor celebrated the Mass and gave an unforgettable homily that was both heartwarming and spiritually nourishing about, of all things, oatmeal! Sister Julie Galan, Director of Religious Education, and her staff provided the coordination. Parish Music Director Ellen Tuttle and her trio backed up the young voices with musical accompaniment. Each role in the liturgy was performed by students, including gift bearers, altar servers, and readers. A wonderful reception in the cafeteria followed, with delicious milk and doughnuts available to all. Many thanks to the staff, parents and students who helped to make this Mass a success.
