The Cure' of Ars Parish Community Celebrates Sister Julie Galan's 60 Year Anniversary of Profession of Vows
May 21, 2006

On May 21, 2006, the Cure' of Ars Parish community came together to celebrate a very special moment in the history of the parish - the 60th anniversary of the profession of vows of Sister Julie Galan, Cure' of Ars Director of Religious Education. It seems like just a short time ago that Sister Julie entered the Order of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Concordia, Kansas, but she has served Cure' of Ars for over 37 years! On this day she was joined by many sisters from her order who travelled to Leawood from far and wide in the Mass celebrated by Archibishop Emeritus James Kelleher, Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, as well as Monsignor Charles McGlinn, Cure' of Ars pastor, and former and present priests and pastors of Cure' of Ars. The Fourth Degree Honor Guard of the Knights of Columbus were present to honor Sister Julie's achievements. (Click on thumbnail to show full size photo.)

Following Mass, Sister Julie received each guest in the Father Burak room, fabulously decorated for the special occasion. Meanwhile, in the chapel room, guests viewed a continuous showing of a DVD detailing Sister Julie's life, and many were able to spot their parents or grandparents as students of Sister Julie decades earlier. The whole day was geared toward conveying the thanks and gratitude of all to Sister Julie for her many years of service and friendship to the Cure' of Ars community and the Church as a whole.
