On June 10, 2007, the Cure' of Ars parish community joined with
Monsignor Charles McGlinn in celebrating the 40th anniversary of
his ordination into the priesthood. Following a Mass of Celebration at
10:30 a.m., all gathered in the gymnasium to honor our beloved pastor, leader, and
friend.
Monsignor Charles' four brothers and their families traveled from across
the country and as well as a large contingent of family members from
Leavenworth, Kansas, home base for the McGlinn clan.
Bob Smith toasted Monsignor Charles and Ed Kuklenski was emcee.
There was abundant food and the "cake ladies" expertly divided the chocolate and
vanilla cakes to serve everyone.
Every good Irishman should be so lucky to be serenaded with "Danny Boy."
The schoolchilden's congratulatory cards were displayed, including a touching
one with a special message about Monsignor Charles' youth.
